LATEST SITE UPDATE:   February 12th, 2010.  Topics;  Different

My wife and I did move on December first 2006 to a small village in the eastern part of the Netherlands called HUMMELO as you can see in the header of my site.
Moving with pigeons is a difficult story wich bring you first three years backwards, but with the possibility to improve afterwards. Therefore there will be many changes made on this website to keep up with the actual situation "A fresh start at a new place"

A SUPER new-arrival at my breedingloft in 2009!

My name is Wim Brom, born and raised in a small village called Amstelveen near Amsterdam. I’m well in the last quarter of my life on this planet.
As a result of my professional life I flew about eighty times around the world and visited all parts. I've spend most of my time in the so called far east and specialy Japan, S-Korea, Taiwan, China, Indonesia and India.
I had the privelege to had meetings and shake hands with ministers and presidents as Ferdinand Marcos, Henry Kissinger, George Bush (senior) and many other VIP's.
I studied during those years the Chinese (Mandarin) language and also some eastern phylosofies and cultures, wich brought me much more respect and understanding for other people.  Many of the sayings on my site are a result of my experience, my way of thinking and from my hand...

Memorylane... "The past" as Salesdirector at Fokker Aircraft

Watched bears in Alaska from closeby and stood unto my shoulders in the snow, sailed under the Goldengatebridge around Alcatraz and with a catamaran on the pacific ocean near the Japanese island Iwojima. Life was generous to me, but with a pricetag… however given the chance to do it all over, it would look verymuch the same, to be honest.
Most boyhooddreams came true and I consider myself a priveleged person.

My wife and best friend  "Kitty"

One of the good things of travelling is returning home… and the more I travelled the more I feel myself typical Dutch, I love this small country, our four seasons, our raw salted herring, our peanutbutter and ofcourse our speciality... very old Dutch cheese.
Life is NOW… yesterday has passed and tomorrow comes maybe, and both are nice for daydreaming now and then, but… it is of the utmost importance that we realise were we came from en where we want to go.
Carpe diem or Catch the day... is my advice and enjoy what life is offering you today!

"Present" thats me in 2009

I welcome you hereby on my website where I try to give an insightview on the way I keep, breed and race pigeons and most important with a minimum input of foreign birds.
And when I succeed to pass on a part of my passion for this beautiful birds and sport to you, I have not waisted my time by putting this on the internet.

The first -ownbred- youngbirds outside at my new location on February 1th 2007.

The birds born on my loft are called "Brommetjes" (with giving all the credits to their original breeders, because honours should be given to those who deserve it) for the reason that I started with these birds in 1995  and all flightpigeons since 1998 are born in my loft and all are the result of my ideas and ways of breeding and regardless the flightresults, they are my pigeons.
Ofcourse i’m no wizzard and try to learn everyday by keeping my eyes and ears fully open.

The new flightloft (6 meters, 3 departments each 2 meter)

The winner is right… is one of my favorite sayings and I shall never hide behind excuses after a bad result. When another fancier has timed pigeon, one of mine should be home aswell  because the individual class of the birds are of the utmost importance on longdistanceflights under our fair but severe weatherconditions.
Breeding birds who can perform at the top in my country and to let them perform likewise, thats my goal in our beautifull pigeonsport and... enjoy my birds!

(Only) the breeding pigeons pictured overhere are at this moment present on my loft and I try to put on new pictures of birds who can proudly call themselves homingpigeons.
This is a result of my move to Hummelo and the sales of my flightbirds November 2006.
I try also to keep my diary uptodate where in I will inform you, with a healthy dose of selfcriticism about the latest high and lowpoints with my pigeons and our sport.
Our sport benefits from honest and open information and let the quality of the pigeons decide  the ranking on the resultsheets.

If you don't agree with some of my views or the otherway around... I invite you to give me your reply in my guestbook or by e-mail.
